A Crime Stoppers tip led to a surveillance operation by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and the arrest of a Gastonia woman.
The surveillance operation was conducted on July 25, 2020, by narcotics investigators and during the operation, a traffic stop was conducted. Colva, a K-9 handled by Sheriff’s Lt. Alan Manns, alerted officers of the presence of illegal narcotics in the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle and its occupants was conducted and led to the seizure of 12 grams of heroin, 2 grams of methamphetamine, a fully loaded Smith and Wesson 38 special handgun, and U. S. currency.
Tracy Rae Givens, 35, of Gastonia, NC was charged with one felony count each of trafficking heroin by possession, trafficking by transport, trafficking heroin by manufacturing, possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance. Givens was taken before a Lincoln County magistrate and placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $225,000 secured bond.
Baker District deputies assisted in the investigation which is ongoing and additional charges could be filed.
