FROM THE DESK OF COUNTY MANAGER KELLY ATKINS
Lincoln County Government will continue working with local and state health officials to make well-informed decisions for the community. Additionally, the county will also continue to closely evaluate risk levels and do what is necessary to protect employees and citizens while maintaining important functions to our best degree possible. At this time, the Board of Commissioners have not decided to add any additional mandatory restrictions. However, we have and will continue practicing social distancing and health safeguards by implementing policies and safety measures in all county agencies to best achieve the safety of our employees and citizens alike.
FROM CHAIRMAN CARROLL MITCHEM, BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Carroll Mitchem, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners told L Town Radio, “As of now I will not vote or have any intention to vote for anything to shut down Lincoln County as area Counties have. As of now, We are observing directives from The State of North Carolina and are standing behind our local businesses and feel that it would hurt them if we enforced a county-wide mandatory shut down. Lincoln County stands on our own”
