Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance call on Swanson Road on December 22, 2019 led to three arrests including a registered sex offender wanted for failure to report a change of address.
The disturbance occurred around 5:00 p.m. and the Lincoln County Communications Center informed the officers that at least one of the individuals may be armed. When the officers arrived one of the men ran into the residence while three people remained outside.
Deputies detained the three people outside and asked the homeowner for permission to search to the residence to be sure everyone and every firearm was accounted for. During the search, deputies heard someone shuffling around upstairs and went to investigate. The officers encountered a white male who was hiding near a chair. They also found a pistol hidden underneath clothing piled on the chair. The man was identified as Chad Stephenson Ramsey, 38, of Lincolnton, NC was wanted for failure to notify a change of address as required by a registered sex offender, parole violation, and felony possession of a firearm. He was taken before a Lincoln County magistrate and placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $30,000 secured bond for two of the charges and a no bond hold for the probation violation.
Also charged were Michael James Notheisen, 33, of Vale, NC. He is charged with felony possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a controlled substance Schedule II. He was jailed without bond.
Dalton Keith Marlow, 28, of Swanson Road, Crouse, NC was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and violation of a 50-b Order. Marlow bond was set at $30,000 secured.
