Lincolnton Man Stabbed, Charged with Assault on a Female

An altercation between a couple as they rode in a car left the man with a stab wound and the female being assaulted.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Red Hill Way on October 16, 2019 reference a reported stabbing. Jeffrey Allen Boyles, 39, of Magnolia Grove Road, Lincolnton, NC walked to a residence on Red Hill Way and told the occupant that he had been stabbed.

Lincoln County deputies and Lincoln County EMS responded and transported Boyles to Atrium Health-Main in Charlotte where he was treated for a single stab wound in the shoulder. Detective Dan Snellings responded to the hospital where Boyles provided a brief statement that he was stabbed by a female while riding as a passenger in her car on Highway 73.


The female was located at her Vale, NC residence where she showed fresh signs of a physical assault to her head and body. She stated she stabbed Boyles as she was being assaulted to defend herself. The female was transported to Atrium Health-Lincoln for treatment of her injuries.

The facts in the case were screened by the Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office and a warrant charging Boyles with assault on a female was issued. So far, he has not been arrested.

An Investigation into the incident is continuing.
