Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies have charged two people in connection with the theft of a vehicle.
The vehicle, a 1992 Ford F-250, was reported stolen from the driveway of the residence at 524 Fran Avenue around September 28, 2019. The victim, Olen Cole, told officers the key had been left in the vehicle because it had a damaged engine.
Deputies observed surveillance cameras at a nearby residence and were able to see an unidentified subject onto the front porch of the residence then get in the truck and leave. Deputies located the vehicle parked at 1281 Meadowland Drive, Lincolnton, NC on October 4, 2019.
John Curtis Mellon, 35, of Meadowland Drive, Lincolnton, NC was charged with one felony count of buying or receiving stolen property. He was placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $15,000 secured bond.
Seth Ross Seeber, 32, of Putnam Street, Lincolnton, NC was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen goods. Seeber’s bond was set at $9,000 secured. Detective J. Lail is the investigating officer.
In an unrelated case, Seeber is also charged with breaking and entering that occurred in the 700 block of Clark’s Creek Road, Lincolnton, NC on September 20, 2019. Tools and other equipment valued at $4,483 were stolen from an outbuilding. Seeber is charged with one felony count each of breaking and entering a building, larceny after breaking and entering, and possession of stolen goods.
